And on the rare occasion a door truly is past repair, we install new ones as well, see door installation. Window Repair UAE fixes aluminium, uPVC and glass doors across Dubai, re-hanging sagging doors, sorting hinges, locks and closers, and realigning glass leaves so they seal and latch again. The first minutes on site sort those apart: the leaf is watched through its full swing, the lock is thrown with the door open and then shut, and the closer is timed, because a door that drops and a door that binds ask for different work.

Door faults we get called for

Doors that stick, drag or drop

When a door catches on the frame or scrapes the floor, the leaf has usually dropped because the hinges have worn or loosened. We re-hang the door so it sits square in the opening, adjust or replace the hinges, and set the gaps evenly all round. On heavier aluminium and glass doors, sag shows up fast at the latch edge, and correcting the hang means the door swings freely and the lock lines up with its keep again. Seasonal expansion and slab settlement both push doors out of true, and both are straightforward to correct on site.

Doors that will not lock

A door that will not lock has either a failed lock case, a worn cylinder, or a strike plate that no longer meets the bolt. We repair mortise locks, multi-point door gear, Euro cylinders and the small alignment issues that stop a bolt from throwing. Often the lock itself is fine and the door has simply dropped, so the deadbolt no longer finds the keep. If the fault is purely in the locking mechanism, our dedicated window hardware and lock repair page explains the gearbox and cylinder work in more detail, and the same expertise applies to doors.

Hinges, closers and self-closing doors

Overhead and floor-spring closers that slam, drift open or leak oil make a door hard to use and unsafe in wind. We service and replace door closers, set the closing and latching speed, and repair or swap failed hinges and pivots. On entrance doors with self-closing mechanisms, correct closer tension keeps the door sealing against dust and cooled air loss without banging shut. Floor-spring pivots on glass doors are a common wear point, and we rebuild or replace them so the leaf returns smoothly to centre.

Glass doors and alignment

Frameless and framed glass doors go out of alignment when the patch fittings, pivots or top and bottom rails work loose. We realign the leaf so it closes flush, meets its lock cleanly and clears the floor. If a glass panel is cracked or the tempered pane needs replacing, we handle that too and match the correct safety-glass specification for the location. Misaligned glass doors put stress on the corners, so fixing the alignment early prevents a bigger problem later.

Sliding, balcony and shopfront doors
