Deep road noise walks straight through one pane, and what drains it is a layer of trapped air
Shut the window tight and the deep hum off the road still comes through: ordinary glass does almost nothing to the low frequencies.

Measure the noise first, then fit the answer
Every step happens on your window, and not one of them on the facade
Diagnosis comes first. We listen in the room with the window closed, work out where the sound is really getting in, and check whether the frame and the outer glass are worth keeping as they are.
Then the choice. If the trouble is the low hum off the road, or nothing may be changed on the outside of the building, an inner leaf is the answer; if the noise sits higher up the scale, or the glass needs replacing regardless, we say so instead of selling you a panel.
Measuring. Each panel is cut for one opening, so we take the reveal on site and build to those figures rather than to a stock size.
Fitting. The panel takes its place inside the room, we seal the gap right round, and we set the moving part until it runs and shuts without effort.
The result. The old window carries on doing its job, the second leaf stands quietly inside the room, and the deep rumble drops away. Nothing had to be broken out, the price stays the one in the quote, and the work is covered for two years.

Traffic rumble? A second pane, not a replacement.
Secondary glazing is a slim second pane mounted on the room side of your existing window, with an air gap between the two. That gap is what makes it the strongest single option against low-frequency traffic noise, the deep rumble that plain glass barely touches. It fits over the window you already have, changes nothing on the outside of the building, and comes off cleanly if you move. Towers and landlords
Reversible, so towers and landlords accept it
The physics is simple. Sound loses energy crossing an air gap, and the wider and better-sealed that gap, the more low-frequency noise it drains. A second internal pane creates exactly that gap without anyone touching your original window or the facade.

Owners Associations and building management in towers block external changes; an internal pane is not an external change.

For high-rise living in Dubai Marina and Downtown towers, where facade rules are strict and traffic and construction noise are constant, this reversibility is often the deciding factor.
Secondary glazing or acoustic glass?
Why the air gap beats glass alone
A single or double-glazed pane can only do so much against heavy traffic. Two panes close together, or two of the same thickness, still let low frequencies vibrate through. Secondary glazing sets an independent second pane a real distance back from the first, so the two panes do not share a resonance and the trapped air absorbs the deep frequencies. For a home over a busy road or near a flyover, this air-gap effect does more for rumble than upgrading the glass alone. If your noise is mostly mid and high frequency, or the pane is due for replacement anyway, swapping to laminated acoustic glass may be the neater answer. The two approaches also stack: acoustic glass in the outer window plus secondary glazing inside is the combination that reaches the full result.
A modest thermal benefit
The same air gap that blocks noise slows heat transfer, which can ease the load on your AC near a sun-facing window.
